LOOK UP!
Where do you turn when you need help and you need it fast? What do you when you simply can't figure out what to do? When facing challenges? When desperate? The answer is simple: look up!
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121: 1, 2
The psalmist gives us the answer to receiving whatever we need in any given situation: look up to the Lord, because He is your help. And honestly, if you're facing any dilemma, challenge, struggle, fear, etc., then what you need is help.
The help that God offers is not only limited to the realm of assistance and aid, but includes much, much more. God's help for His people encompasses deliverance of every kind--aid, victory, prosperity, salvation, health and welfare. So you see, no matter the circumstance or situation, God has you covered and can provide you with whatever you need in that instance.
One of the most comforting scriptures to me in trusting God as my Helper is Psalm 46:1,
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
Hallelujah! This Scripture is so powerful because it promises you that when you face trouble of any kind, God will be a very present help. So stop the wondering of whether God is there with you or of whether He'll come through for you this time. Shut the mouth of the devil by declaring "I'm coming out because my God is a very present help in my time of trouble.” It works and it allows God to move in on the scene and become the help you need at the present moment.
You see that's what I love about God--you can count on Him. He's promised throughout Scripture to be there for you and never leave or forsake you. He's promised that when you face a hard spot, He won't jump ship and desert you, but instead He'll help you and cause you to come out victorious. (2 Corinthians 2:14)
Notice that the key to receiving help in each of these passages of Scripture is focusing on the Lord. These Scriptures clearly identify the source of our deliverance or help--the Lord. Therefore, we should not be looking to people, money, or any other source, except the Lord, for our help. Why? Because it won't provide you with the true deliverance that you need. And besides, God has guaranteed that He'll be there for you when you need help, but you can't always be sure that people, money or whatever you're trusting in, will come through for you. Don't place your focus on those uncertainties, but look up to the Lord.
Finally, how do you access this help that comes from God? Let's look in Hebrews 4:16:
"Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well timed help, coming just when we need it]." The Amplified Bible
Praise the Lord! You access or receive God's help by stepping up to the throne of grace as one who has a blood-bought right to do so and boldly receive the help you need. Remember, He's promised to be a very present help in trouble-not one minute too early, not one minute too late, but appropriate and well-timed help JUST WHEN YOU NEED IT! It doesn't get any better than that. God has committed Himself to helping you and has instructed you to come to the throne of grace and get it.
So the next time you find yourself in a problem, challenge or dilemma of any sort, LOOK UP to the Lord, your God--for He is your HELP and He's ready to deliver you!
