Finding the Will of God for Your Life
God has something that He wants you to do and that "something" is His assignment or will for your life. God is the most purposeful Being in existence; everything He does is for a purpose. Therefore when He created you, He did so for a reason. God placed you in this earth to carry out a very specific assignment that only you can fulfill. Now it is up to you to communicate with and become intimately acquainted with your Heavenly Father so that He can reveal His perfect will for your life to you.
It's unfortunate that many people come into this world, exist and die without ever knowing their purpose for existing; without ever knowing why they are even here on planet Earth. One great man of God calls it "existing without explanation". Maybe you, yourself, have sensed a deeper calling or purpose for your life than what you are experiencing today. That, my friend, is God stirring within you the desire to know and fulfill His will for your life. And as you acknowledge Him and ask for His guidance, He will direct your paths.
It's Not a Mystery
First and foremost you must understand that God is not trying to hide His will for your life from you, nor does He expect you to go through cycles of trial and error before you experience ultimate success. The indelible truth is that God wants you to know and understand what the will of the Lord is concerning your life.
"Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the most of the time [buying up every opportunity}, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17 (Amplified Version)
God wants us to live with purpose and dignity; He wants us to understand and firmly grasp or lay hold of His will for our lives.
If His will for your life seems to be hidden from you today, I have good news! God has made a promise to His people that:
"...nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known." Matthew 10:26 (Amplified Version)
So you see God is ready to make His will known to you because He knows (and wants you to know) that the only way you'll ever have the good life, full of God's blessings, success and provision, is if you are in His will.
The Practical Part Comes First
The reason that true success only comes when you find and obey the will of God for your life is because: Finding the will of God for your life=Finding the anointing of God for your life. The anointing is God's burden-removing, yoke destroying power. It will remove any burden, problem, or yoke so that all that's left are the blessings of God. Wow, what a way to live! In its most simplest form, the will of God for your life is the Word of God, because God's will is His Word. So you see, by having the Word, you're half way there already. The bible or the Word of God contains God's general will for everybody that's ever been born. That will includes things such as salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, wisdom, a blessed family and marriage, etc… As you make the decision to study and obey God's written Word, you prepare yourself to go the next level—which is to receive His specific will for your life. This will be revealed to you by the Holy Spirit. (John 16:13)
Finding the will of God for your life will require faith, so you must begin to build up your expectancy for God's will to be made known to you. To get this process started, Jesus gave us the key in Matthew, chapter 6 as He was teaching His disciples how to pray.
"After this manner therefore pray ye: ... Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:10
This verse from the very famous Lord's prayer is a main key to activating your faith and leading you into the will of God for your life. Everyday, you should spend time declaring "Will of God be done in my life today", "Thy will be done in my career, family, relationships, ministry, etc.”, “Not my will, but Your will be done in my life Lord in earth, as it is in heaven". As you do this for every area of your life, your faith will begin to rise and you will become more and more assured that God is heeding your call and leading you into His perfect will for your life. In fact, that is exactly what has happened to me since I began doing this in January of this year. My pastor taught me much of what I'm sharing with you now, and it caused me to become serious about finding the will of God for my life. As a result, I trust God to lead me to the perfect job for me, to bring the perfect mate/husband into my life, to direct me in fulfilling His will for my life concerning my call into the ministry, and every other area that concerns my life. Jesus, Himself did this, (Hebrews 10:7), so how much more should we. It has become my heart cry and my reassurance that each day I'm walking more and more in the will of God for my life.
It's Never Too Late
I perceive by the Spirit of God that many of you are saying to yourselves, "Well, I guess I just blew it. I'm too old now to do all that God wants me to do; I've wasted too much time. I've made too many mistakes." But God wants me to tell you that it's never too late to obey God! In fact, there's no time like the present! Moses, who was without a doubt one of the greatest leaders and figures in all of Bible history, did not enter into God's perfect will for his life until he was in his eighties. And yet, God did not hold that against him. Instead, God used him to lead His people out of bondage, to receive His law and write it down, and to prepare His people to enter into the promised land. What a life! (Now who ever said life doesn't begin until you're fifty?)
What matters to God is your future, not your past. The only one that is concerned about your past is the devil, so don't let him bring it up to you. Prepare instead to give your whole heart, soul, and strength to finding and fulfilling the will of God for your life and don't ever base God's will for you on where you are right now.
Hello Destiny
Simply put: the divine will of God is God's choice for your life. It's His pleasure, His purpose and His delight for your life. To enter into His will you must exalt His will over everything-- at all cost. Maybe God is calling you into the fivefold ministry, but you are currently a doctor or lawyer by profession. In this instance, to enter into God's perfect will, you would have to be willing to exalt His will over the status that society places on doctors and lawyers. The good part, however, is that you will find more success, prosperity, happiness and fulfillment in full-time ministry than you ever could have as a doctor or a lawyer. Forget about what others will think or say, and focus on pleasing God. Believe me, when they see all of your success, they'll be eager to follow God as you do.
In the book of Proverbs, chapter 20, the Word of God teaches us that man's goings are of the Lord. Another place in Scripture teaches that man's mind plans his way, but God directs his path. How reassuring it should be for you to know that God won't let you fail or get off track, as you seek Him. Instead, He is committed to ordering your steps.
“The steps of a {good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way {and He busies Himself with his every step]. Psalm 37:23 (Amplified Version)
Now this verse says that God will order your steps, and in fact He will busy Himself with your every step. So if God is busying Himself with your every step, you never have to worry about having a misstep! Hallelujah!! He'll make sure that you stay on the right track, and even if you get off track somehow, God knows how to pick you up and put you right back on track again. So rest in God, acknowledge Him daily, cry out for His will, and get ready to meet destiny face to face.
