Dare to be Different
Do you blend in with the crowd? Is there a difference in you and those around you who are not born-again? Can people see Jesus in you? As you consider these questions, determine that from this day forward you will become more like Jesus and less like the world and those who operate according to its system.
Romans 12: 1, 2 gives us eye opening instruction in this manner:
“I beseech you therefore brethren by the tender mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God.”
These scriptures clearly show us that we are not to conform (blend in and align ourselves) with the world's system, but instead we are to be transformed (or changed) by the renewing of our minds.
As Christians we should not be blending and melding with the world. We should stand out clearly and boldly from the corrupt, evil world system as examples of righteousness and true holiness. Jesus said a candle isn't lit to be hidden, but instead to be set on a candlestick, thus allowing its light to shine openly and bless all those who partake of it. (Matthew 5:15)
As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, our lights must shine openly and consistently so that those who don't know Him can see the light in us and be drawn out of darkness into the Marvelous Light. As I was writing this message, the Holy Spirit said "It's not okay to wear the title, but not bear the fruit." He was referring specifically to the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5: 22, 23) Decide to be different, today in God's prescribed way and let the world see Jesus in you!
