The MIRACLE of Seed-Faith

Seed. It's the most powerful thing that a man can possess, and when used properly, it can change any circumstance, any situation--any destiny.  The truly wonderful thing about this seed is that God has given it to everyone, empowering us to live the good life that He's provided for us.  Let's trace this gift from the Father in the Word of God:

"And God said, Behold I have given you every herb bearing seed... and every tree in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” Genesis 1:29

Immediately after creating mankind, God equipped him with seed.  Why? Let's look back at Genesis 1:29 for the answer:

"...to you it shall be for meat."

In other words, it was for their sustenance and survival; the seed was their life source!

The Seed That Produces Every Time

If you can allow yourself to think like a farmer for a moment, you'll catch the deep spiritual insight of this awesome truth. A farmer makes his living off of what?  His seed.  Someone responds and says, "No he makes his living off of the crops that he sells." Yeah, but before he can ever harvest a crop, he must have seed to plant. If he wants corn then he must plant corn seed. If he wants watermelon then he must plant watermelon seed.  WHATEVER he wants, he must be willing to get the seed and then plant it in the ground. It should then produce a harvest -- and that's how he makes his living.

Well as spiritual farmers, God has equipped us with seed, as we read in Genesis. With that farmer that I just mentioned, he may or may not get a harvest from the seeds he plants.  If a hard frost or drought or other calamity comes along, it could very well hinder him from receiving a harvest off of those seeds. But Glory to God, we have been given seed that will always produce. What is this supernatural seed? It's the incorruptible seed of the Word of God:

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever." I Peter 1:23

God has given you the seed of his eternal Word; a seed that cannot be corrupted by anything or anyone, but instead will always produce whatever God has said.

God beautifully illustrated this truth in Isaiah 55:10,11:

"For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth  forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

Hallelujah! Here you have God's guarantee that His Word is never vain, void or unproductive, but it always produces.

The Faith Part

Now that we understand seed, let's look at faith. In God's system, faith is very important. Indeed, without it, it's impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). So it's a natural conclusion that God wants us to know how to use our faith and get results from His Word.

The Master's Lesson

"And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, Ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you." Luke 17:5,6

Now let's look closer at Jesus' lesson on faith.  The first thing the Lord told his disciples in this lesson is to treat faith like a seed. (He actually said they could compare it to a mustard seed which is one of the tiniest seeds there is, making the miracle action in it that much greater when it produces!) He followed up that with instructions on how to plant the seed: "...ye might say...”.  So after we have the faith seed, which is God's Word, we then must open our mouths and say it (or say the Word), which is equivalent to planting it in our hearts, circumstances and situations. Finally, He tells them what they can expect to happen: "it should obey you.”  Glory to God!

In essence, the Lord is saying that our faith, or our seed, or the incorruptible Word of God, is our servant. What happens when a master gives orders to his servant? The servant obeys. So likewise, when you take your faith and plant it like a seed, it should obey you, too. Do you see the miracle action of seed-faith?!  What miracle do you need in your life today? What situation would you like to see changed? What problem would you like to solve? What goal or dream would you like to accomplish? Whatever it is, take the incorruptible seed of God' s Word, speak it out of your mouth over that situation and allow it to produce a miracle harvest for you—after all, it's your servant.

The Universal Seed

No one would argue with the principle that seeds produce after their own kind. Apple seeds produce apples. Lemon seeds produce lemons. And so it goes in the Kingdom of God, too. Love seeds produce love. Hate sees produce hate. Prayer seeds produce prayer, etc. The principle is clear.  However, there is a seed that is universal-it will produce anything. What is this seed?  Ecclesiastes 10:19 gives us the answer:

"A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things."

The universal seed, according to God's Word, is money. This is so awesome because it simply means that whatever you need, money will provide the answer. How does this work? The same way Jesus said it would in Luke 17. First, you take money and plant it or sow it as a seed. Then you name it or say what you want it to produce or harvest in your life.  (Thus you could call it a healing seed, a deliverance seed, a house seed, a car seed, a job seed, etc.). Finally, once you've done this--it will obey or answer you with the harvest that you desire. It's a powerful principle that can literally produce whatever it is that you need in your life.

So when you give your money from now on, look at it as a seed.  Name it whatever you would like for it to produce and watch it answer you with a harvest of blessing everytime.

Too good to be true?  It might be too good, but it's true. It's the MIRACLE of seed-faith!
